I am an Assistant Professor of History at Duquesne University. My first book, Aristocratic Education and the Making of the American Republic, was published by the University of North Carolina Press in fall 2020. Before coming to Duquesne, I received a Ph.D. in early American history from Ohio State University (2015), spent two years as a post-doctoral research fellow at the New York Public Library, and taught at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. At NYPL, I curated the Early American Manuscripts Project, which made freely available over 50,000 pages of historic eighteenth and early nineteenth-century manuscripts.
